Sustainability education and how it involves schools and colleges in India is an evolving space and gaining momentum. There is a larger need for engagement with students, faculty and institutions in a collective journey of understanding sustainability education and playing an active role as change makers. Wipro earthian and its partners engage with the education ecosystem to increase the space provided to sustainability education within institutes. Select institutes embark on a collaborative exercise that brings them, sustainability experts & Wipro together, to create unique learning experiences and become partners in change.
A first-hand experience of learning and doing in the field and outside the classroom always adds tremendous perspective and value. To achieve this, we will be including a series of experiential workshops that cover a wide-range of topics like place-based education, interactions of native forest communities and their livelihoods, local biodiversity etc. Inspired by these workshops and interactions, we hope that many schools start new learning initiatives on their own too. Our Field Orientation Workshops are conducted every year for the winning schools by our partners. They are usually 3-day workshops and cover a wide range of topics like place-based education, livelihoods, local biodiversity, etc. With our partner organizations we have curated multiple such experiences over the years in locations like the Sahyadris , BR Hills, Yelagiri, Katarniaghat Wild Life Sanctuary, the Andamans and the Sunderban Delta
