These activity-based programs will help you identify and understand the need for judicious use, management, sources and conservation of Water, Waste and Biodiversity
resources. These activities are designed to help you understand and reflect on issues related to these three key sustainability themes in your school campuses and
communities, while also connecting these with other aspects of ecology and society.

How to Participate - Water

There are two parts to this learning process. The first of these involves understanding
water around you by doing a set of activities. In the second part, you learn to explore
further to understand water’s interconnections to larger issues, both local and global.
In Part A, through the set of activities explained in the booklet, you will have the opportunity to work hands-on as teams, reflect on data collected, and critically 
analyse the issues related to water.

In Part B, you will write an analytical essay of around 2,500 words. In your report,
you will analyse and understand the concept of sustainability and water, within 
cities / villages / towns. Through this process you will discover the condition of local
water bodies and resources, and issues affecting their availability, quantity and
quality.

the biodiversity around you by doing a set of activities. In the second part, you learn
to explore further to understand its interconnections to larger issues, both local and
global.
In Part A, through the set of activities explained in the booklet, you will have the
opportunity to work hands-on as teams, reflect on data collected, and critically 
analyse the issues related to biodiversity.
In Part B, you will write an analytical essay of around 2,500 words. Through this 
process, we hope you will explore and understand biodiversity through the lens of
your local ecosystems. Use the opinions and perspectives collected to your 
advantage here.

analyse the issues related to waste.

In Part B, you will write an analytical essay of around 2,500 words. Through this 
process, we hope you will understand waste management, and work towards 
developing a model municipal waste management plan in your local community.

School FAQ's

The awards are open to any school in India

Students from Standard/Grade 6th to 12th are eligible to participate

Each institution can send any number of entries against the unique earthian registration number of the school.

Students from Standard/Grade 6th to 12th are eligible to participate

Students can form teams consisting strictly of minimum 2 members and maximum 5 members. The team will have a teacher as a coordinator/facilitator with primary contribution, ownership, and representation coming from students. Teams should ideally consist of participants across classes/groups from the same school.

Last date for submission is September 30, 2025.

20 teams will be shortlisted for the best projects. The shortlisted teams will be hosted at the annual event, where they will be felicitated by Wipro Chairman Mr. Rishad Premji.

There will be 20 special awards* for 20 teams with cash prize of INR 50 thousand for each team. Special awards for school teams are addressed at the institutional level. This is to encourage the building of institutional capability in the area of sustainability education on a long-term basis.

Participation certificates will be awarded to all teams that make submissions.

20 teams will be shortlisted for the best projects.

Continuous engagement in the area of sustainability education for students and winning schools will be provided.

*Special awards : Winning teams are not eligible for the award for two consecutive years 
following the year in which they are selected. For example: if a school or college has
received the award in 2015, they would not be eligible for the award in 2016. However,
winning institutions and teams still get to attend the annual event, will be awarded 
recognition certificates and will be part of our Continuous Engagement Program.
